About SLN function in excel:

SLN is a worksheet financial function, this will calculate straight line depreciation of an asset for one period.

Syntax for SLN Function:

=SLN(cost, salvage, life)

Parameters:

Cost [Required]: initial total cost of the asset.
Salvage [Required]: expected sale vale at the end of the life of the asset.
Life [Required]: useful life of the asset or number of periods over which the asset is to be depreciated.

Using SLN function:

With SLN function we can calculate depreciation as per straight line method for an asset.
